Kalashamala

A sacred place enveloped in a stunning natural setting

Nestled in a divine atmosphere, the Kalashamala in Thrissur district is encircled by numerous temples. The Kalashamala is also known as Narimada Hills or Kallaayi Hills. Spanning 2.64 acres, this emerging eco-tourism village showcases the enchanting temple grove dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. It is a haven of tranquility for believers. Located northwest of the district, Kalashamala boasts pristine natural beauty.

The hill's panoramic views are truly mesmerizing. Narimada, the hill's natural cave dating back to the Stone Age, is a mesmerizing wonder, accompanied by a temple surrounded by beautiful shola forest. The 3.5-acre grove is home to the highly endangered tree species known locally as ‘Kulavetti’ and scientifically as Syzygium travancoricum, which is listed on the IUCN Red List.
